Details on the Florida Trip
We got back from FL around three weeks ago. Amy, Ella and I went on a 10 day venture to visit my Mom in Merritt Island, FL. Justin had arrived before us on Sunday. We stayed busy the whole trip but Ella enjoyed every second of it. I had worried so long about how Ella was going to do flying. On the first flight she was so curious and just wanted to look around. When we landed in Charlotte, we basically ran to our next gate and had to board. From Charlotte to Orlando, she hung out for awhile and then passed out. I was so happy because she didn't have any crying spells or anything.
We got down to Orlando on a Tuesday night super late and didn't get to sleep until around 1am, even Ella was awake til then. Wednesday and Thursday we hung out around the house, did a little shopping at the Avenues then went to the beach one day. My Mom has a pool in her backyard, which was marvelous, and Ella enjoyed it so much. Her backyard backs up to a river that goes straight to the ocean. Ella got to go on her first boat ride but she was not a fan of her life jacket. Also, while playing in Mom's backyard one day Ella and I got to see a manatee up close.
On Friday, we woke up so early to make the trip down to Key West to visit Mema, my mom's mom, for 6 to 7 hour drive. In the car were my mom, Amy, Justin, Ella and I so we were packed in there. Needless to say, I never want to make that drive again and Justin and Amy were begging for us to drop them off at a bar when we arrived at Key West. Key West is such a great place and a place that everyone needs to visit. We got to watch an amazing sunset and enjoy great shopping and food.
But we were back in the car on Sunday to make the trip back to Merritt Island. The trip back was much better than the trip down, thank goodness!! Monday was Justin's last day in FL so we did whatever he wanted, which consists of Beach, Lunch, Pool, going on a Gheenoe boat ride(a canoe that can't flip so Amy and I were sold), and dinner.
On Tuesday we had to take him to the airport in the morning so we made a slight detour to the outlets. Orlando has the best outlets that I have ever been to and we did some major damage there.
I had been dying to take Ella to the zoo so we made our way there on Wednesday. Ella loves animals so I figured she would have a blast there. She loved every moment of it. She got to see so many animals and the zoo was actually really nice and clean, which I was shocked about.
Thursday and Friday were our down days because Mom had to work so we just hung out around the house and played in the pool. It was excellent since we had been on the go the whole trip.
Saturday we go to wake up at the wonderful time of 4:30am to catch our flight at 6:55am. Wow, that was some fun! Ella did so great and I couldn't have asked to her be any better. We were back in Lynchburg by 11am.
We had a great time but were very excited to get back home and see Edward.
