Ella's BamMommy(Edward's mom) gave Ella a shopping cart and she absolutely loves it. She put all her babies and anything she can find into it. Recently, the cat was one of those things and she actually stayed in it for a lap or two. Even though these pictures are poor in quality, they are priceless!

Halloween

We dressed Ella up again this year but once again didn't do any trick or treating. I didn't want all that candy in the house. Instead, we went to dinner with our friends then back to our house for cake. I had made Edward a cake for his birthday and I wish I had taken a picture. It was a regular 9 in round yellow cake with chocolate frosting with Kit Kats placed around it to make it look like a bowl. After that I tied a ribbon around it and dumped a bag full of M&M's in the center. It turned out great! Well, here's the little strawberry pictures...

Ella got a kitty

I know it sounds a little crazy but she loves cats. Every time she sees one it's "Kitty, kitty, kitty" and she runs to them and loves on them. Well, the Lynchburg Humane Society was given a grant so they had a special where all cats and kittens were free and the dogs were at a discount. No, we didn't come home with another dog even though it's so sad to see those animals there.
So Friday, two weeks ago, Angie, Ella, and I went to the Humane Society to see if we could find a kitten. I wanted one that wasn't scared of Ella and one you could love on. We took several out of the cages but none really jumped out at us and some just didn't look healthy. Well, we were about to walk out the door and the lady at the front desk ask "what were were looking for?" So I told her that we were interested in a kitten and she said she had one that had just gotten back from getting fixed and wanted to know if we would like to see her. Well, that kitten is now ours. She was great with me and then I let Ella see it and the kitten went right up to her. Plus, she had long hair and for some reason Edward said he wanted a long haired cat.
Depends on who you ask the kitten's name is either Tilly or Kitty, and man does Ella love her Kitty. Poor Tilly takes a beating too, at first Ella would just love on her and rub her, not anymore. Ella runs after her, picks her up and plays with her though it's a little rough sometime, Tilly just goes with it. Tilly has never done anything to hurt Ella much to our surprise. Berkley is actually doing very well with Tilly but sometimes I believe he's a little scared of her. She chases Berkley around trying to get his tail and he hates it, but it's very funny to watch. Here are a couple of pictures of Ella and Tilly in acting. It was a little hard to get some but they wouldn't stop moving.





Excuse the mess before I took the pictures, Ella had thrown all her bracelets and necklaces out of the drawer.

Puppy for a day

This past summer, our friends Sara and Jason had decided to breed their dog, Stella, with Berkley and Stella had 6 puppies. After a long eight six for Sara having to put up with the puppies they were ready to go home. We decided to get the pick of the litter because our friend, Mimi, had wanted a female and there was only one. So Saturday morning we went to pick up our puppy. Mimi couldn't pick up the puppy until Sunday afternoon so that left us with the puppy. Ella had a blast with her, in a way I wanted another puppy until night came. Well lets just say the puppy missed her brothers a lot and expressed it but howling some of the night. She was locked downstairs and you could hear it faintly but still. Poor Berkley had to listen to that all night. Here are some pictures of the puppy. Ella and her had a blast playing in the sandbox, not sure which one threw more sand out.

Nags Head 2011

Well Hurricane Irene delayed our trip by two days but we were still able to go. We enjoyed every minute of it and wished it could have lasted longer. Can't wait til next year!

One Day I Want One Like This...

New Toy!

We had been looking for a little slide for Ella for awhile now. We wanted one for outside, something for her to play on. We looking on Craigslist but never found one that we really loved. Just the other day our neighbor's offered their old one because his girls had out grown it and they recently got a new swing set. They had also told us that it was given to them by our next door neighbors so it's making its way around the neighborhood. We are so grateful for this because she absolutely loves it! It's a little fated but it's perfect!





Yesterday, we went to visit Sara in Richmond to see Stella and Berkley's puppies. Ella loved them!

Morning Routine

Each morning after Ella wakes up she has a routine that she loves. We play a little then eat breakfast, which tends to be all over her by the end. After breakfast, we have to change her clothes and play some more. At that time, we let Berkley outside not 5 minutes after Berkley goes out Ella decides that she needs to go out with Berkley. So out the front door she goes and basically runs down the driveway to her swing. She loves it! So we have to swing every morning before we go for our walk and sometimes after our walk. (Pictures are a little fuzzy because they were taken on my cell phone)
